Getting Oil to the Overhead Conversion

I have a (somewhat) stock B engine with a Steve Serr overhead conversion and a high volume oil pump that creates 30psi pressure to the galley after the full flow filter . Once the oil reaches the galley there is not enough oil pressure to pump oil through the external line to the head to oil...

    Is My Cam Going Flat?

I've got a rebuilt B block with a Cragar head. Virtually all of it is rebuilt or new including re-ground cam and new lifters. I've had a lot of break in problems with the side draft weber carb. I've got one loud lifter at all rpm. So with the exhaust valves set at .013 on the number one...

Radiator, Fender, Hood Shelf, Etc. Correct Order of Installation

Many years ago there was a thread here that talked about the correct order of installation of the fender, radiator, hood shelf, radiator shell, etc. on the 26-27 model T. I've searched for that thread but can't seem to find it. Can anyone tell me the correct order of installation?

Plugging the Water Holes in a B block

Having read Jim Brierley's book many times over, I see he recommends that you plug 4 of the water holes in the B block to support the head gasket. The picture in the book isn't all that clear so I thought I'd ask before I have this done. If I use the head gasket as a guide, it's the four holes...

    Head Bolts won't line up

I'm installing a cast iron Cragar head on a B block and I'm using bolts rather than studs due to firewall clearance. If I install the bolts beginning from the rear and working forward with just enough threads to get them started, the left front hole in the block will not line up enough to get...

    Drive Shaft Angle Question

I posted a question similar to this on the early V-8 forum but thought I'd test the waters over here thinking I will get a somewhat different answer. My generic question concerns a Model A with a closed driveline. Given that the rear end angles up toward the trans at about 3 to 5 degrees, where...

    Drive Shaft Angle Question

My generic question concerns almost any early ford with a closed driveline. Given that the rear end angles up toward the trans at about 3 to 5 degrees, where is that angle established? Is the angle built into the crossmember or is it built into the spring hangers? Some other means?

How to Remove the Lever from Houdaille Shocks?

I'm hoping soneone out there can tell me how to remove the lever from my Houdaille shocks. They are unknown year but probably 42-48 fronts and rears with the external adjuster. It looks like the are simply pressed on to a splined shaft but for once I thought I'd ask before I ruined the first...

Wire Wheels with a Ford Bolt Pattern

I have a set of 19" wire wheels that are said to be 1931 Chrysler/Dodge/De soto. The bolt pattern is very close to Ford 5 on 5 1/2. While I wouldn't be so brazen as to install them on a stock Model A, while trying to sell them the question "will they fit a Ford?" often comes up. Does anyone...
