Now is the time to grease all those hard to get to fittings. I just finished replacing the driveshaft u-joint in my 47, what a job!! I know its one of those fittings we tend to forget but a tube of JD cornhead grease and a minute or two is much easer than than what I just went through. Not fun.
I need a pumpkin from a 8" rear. It must be 3:80 to work with an overdrive trans., posi not necessary. Early mustang, Fairlane or falcon would work, thanks
Chuck.
On Tuesday we lost another great Ford Barn member, Bill Wzorek. He was THE man for rebuilding early ford leaver shocks, and always had the answers. He attended the Barners winter get-togethers and added a lot to the fun.
I'm sure he will be greatly missed by all, Chuck.
Has anyone tried some of the after market fi kits? I have several flatheads and they just don't run good on 10% methanol. I have changed the main metering jets to improve the performance but, then my MPG drops down to 10-12. I get non alcohol when I can bingo they run perfect. The alcohol is not...
I have had a lean bucking at low speed with my 8BA, over the 4th I talked to a Mopar guy who experienced the exact same thing with a 360 dodge. The symptoms he experienced, and the things he tried, matched everything I had done. He found out Mopars have porous intakes on certain years. This...
We just came back from a trip to the early ford v8 museum in Auburn In, unreal! They had a tin sided 60hp, which I have hear of but right beside it was a tin sided 85hp new to me. I was wondering if any of the barners have information on these engines.
If you haven't been to this museum it is a...
I have a small bore.030 over 8BA with a stock crank 33/4. It runs great at 60 but around town it bucks and has lots of lope. My mistake cam(max-1) is just to big for the rest of the engine. Is there anyway of smoothing this 8BA out?
It has adjustable lifters and currently the lash is .014, if...
Trying to save a original wooden seat frame, does anyone have any pictures how the wood goes together. It looks like they used 3" angle irons to hold the back to the side plywood, thanks Chuck.
