Does anyone know of anyone selling original lock cylinders that would fit a '29 rumble seat handle? I took my original apart to get it re-plated and the lock cylinder broke in two. Would a lock cylinder from a reproduction fit in an original handle? Thanks

    Dropped nuts

Why is it that whenever you drop a nut anywhere in the engine compartment that it lodges in that little gap between the block and the throttle linkage and you have to take out a dozen screws to remove the floorboard in order to find it?

    Ammeter showed a discharge

Was driving my Fordor the other day. It started and ran fine the whole trip, but a mile or so from home the ammeter suddenly showed a 15 amp discharge. It normally shows about a 4-6 amp charge when underway. I run a stock generator with a diode cutout. I have a fuse for the whole electric...

    29 Roadster rear wheel well

Does anyone have a closeup photo of the rear wheel well on a 29 Roadster? Mine has a reinforcing doubler along he bottom edge and it's not finished off very well. I suspect that it was added sometime in the past to fix a corrosion problem.

    Brackets under gas tank

I had the gas tank off my '29 Roadster and am now reassembling it. There were two L shaped brackets under the gas tank that I assumed were there to hold the electric windshield wiper shielded cable. Problem is I didn't take a picture of where they were bolted on, and I can't recall where they...

    Universal Joint Clam Shells

I was installing U-Joint clam shells yesterday on a bare chassis. I've done it before while the body was on the chassis and it was a miserable job. I thought it would be easier with the body off. It's not! The two vertical bolts are a piece of cake, but the 6 horizontal ones are agonizing...

    side curtain body socket

Any tips/tricks on removing the side curtain body sockets? From pictures on Snyders site, it looks like it just pushes in and snaps into place. Do they just pry out? Snyders sells an installation tool. Does that compress the sides in any way and will it help in removing the sockets?

    '29 Roadster Structure

I'm starting to tear apart my '29 Roadster for a re-restoration. I've pulled out the interior and I'm seeing a couple of things that I don't know what they're for. The first is a support that seems to have been cut off at some point in the past. It is located behind the seatback, up under the...

    Plating parts

I suspect I know the answer to this, but when having parts plated, like door handles, do the platers need to have the parts taken apart into the individual components or can they be left assembled? For example, can the escutcheon and trim pieces be left on, or must they be completely disassembled?

    Front tire excessive wear

Man, my Fordor blows through front tires crazy fast. I've tried he following: I straightened the axle to remove a bow (someone must have towed it from the center of he axle in he past). While off, I checked the alignment and angles of the kingpin and spring perch holes, and they were fine...

    Gas seepage at steering column

Anyone have any suggestions for a quick fix for some slight seepage of gas where the steering column fastens to the gas tank? I know, I shouldn't mess with a gas leak, and I should pull the tank and have it braised. But I don't want to :D

Rear backing plate/brake installation Les Andrews instructions

Is it just me, or is it impossible to install the assembled rear brake backing plate onto the axle the way that Les Andrews describes in his red manual? Les calls for installing the parking brake lever before installing the backing plate. I tried for about an hour, and there is no way that I...
