I have a 1930 A with a 12v conversion kit. the amp gauge reads over 20 amps at all times and the alternator gets hot. it has a new battery. any suggestions?

i installed a 12v coversion kit in my 1930 model a. it came with a one wire internally regulated alt. the kit also came with a 30 amp ammeter. when running at med. to fast idle, the amp gauge pegs at 30. the alternator is a 60 amp. what gives? any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks

i have a 12 v. conversion with single wire alternator. when driving at or about 30 mph, the amp gauge is pegged at 30 amps... when not running, voltage reads 15v at alternator.,... which is internally regulated. bad alternator?

just converted my 1930 model a to 12 volt negative gnd and can't get it to start...it just backfires out the carb. never messed with timing. double checked all wiring....has single wire alt..coil with external resister..reversed wires on 30 amp. ampmeter...what did i do wrong, other than...
