Were the original 1932 Ford headlamp reflectors solid brass or brass plated steel underneath silvering? Or both?

Asking this again. Brand new Brassworks radiator, rebuilt water pump shaft end is 1/4 " away from core.What is normal clearance on a 1932 Model B ? Hopefully steady rods and transmission mount keep forward engine movement from occurring.
