New (to me) '52 Ford F1 w/V8 flathead and "Saginaw" 4-speed

As a follow-up: I got around to making a list cover for the clutch-flywheel to mate the Speedway Motors adapter bellhousing with the GM Saginaw trans. I made a wooden form to fit. Then I made the cover out of metal to mate. Not show quality, but it works. Open clutch/flywheel/pressure plate...

    Overdrive options query

Original cross member is mostly gone. Driver's side has some of the original cross member with the new power brake booster and master cylinder attached to it. Passenger side has a remnant with the parking brake attached. New cross member is a square tube setup. I'll have to go take pic of...

    Overdrive options query

Hi: I am mid-project on my '52 F1. It has a Saginaw (456) four-speed in it and the original rear-end (3.92). Trans is prior owner install, so I am using it. I am thinking for down the road the options to make it more enjoyable on the road. That brings me to overdrive units for better highway...

    1952 F1, headers, Recommendations?

Hello: I have a '52 Ford F1 with a '47 Merc Flathead V8. It had headers on it when I bought it. They are a new production set, not sure of the maker. Thye have been modified to "work" with the setup. The driver's side center tube touches the dipstick and collector is within 1/4" of the original...

    Windshield Washer

This is the first reference I've seen for the "glass bottle" used for windshield washers. I bought a kit from LMC Truck that has everything EXCEPT the glass bottle/jar. It isn't a Mason or Ball jar. What brand/type jar is used...

    Header for 1952 F1 flathead v8

Sorry - clarification - the headers I have are tube, not cast iron headers. They look like a production set of tube headers. But have been "modified" by previous owner, poorly. I have seen 1-1/2" and 2" tube headers online for flatheads, but they don't get into clearance information for stock...

    Header for 1952 F1 flathead v8

Looking for advice: I have a 1952 F1 with a '47 Mercury V8. It does not have the original cast iron headers. It has a new set of headers, installed before I bought it. So, brand?? who knows. But the problem is the header on driver's side touches the dipstick and is within 1/4" of the original...

    Dome Light and Door Switches

I was exploring the dome light when I purchased a wiring kit from Ron Francis Wiring. They describe the original dome/courtesy light as "reverse" to what is now done. Originally the dome/courtesy light is operated by turning the headlight knob counterclockwise and it grounded the dome light. The...

'52 Ford F1: whatsitfor and heater question

Here is the Parts Catalog images for the 48/50, 51, and 52 versions of the Magic Air or Fresh Air heaters. I don't see much difference between 51 and 52. The 53 is another animal.

'52 Ford F1: whatsitfor and heater question

This is the style I have - "Recirculating" means it does not have fresh air coming from outside. And the single dash switch had a voltage(?) reducer so you could run fan at full speed or half speed.
