Does anyone know of some place that can match paint

I have had tcp global do it for a nightmist blue metallic mustang. I sent them a quarter panel extension for them to color match. It wasn't exact but it was very close and blendable.

Need help identifying throttle base-holley 94?

Correct. I agree with you. The fuel bowl is aftermarket (new), not the base.

Need help identifying throttle base-holley 94?

It looks like someone put a new bowl on it that is aftermarket so it does not have any markings on it.

Need help identifying throttle base-holley 94?

I have what I believe is a Holley 94 style carb with a 4 bolt base on my 59ab flathead. It has a 4 bolt aluminum intake. It has a crack in the throttle base so I’m looking to replace it. The problem is I’m not sure what I should be looking for. I have attached some pics but I haven’t measured...

    1939 Mercury w/ 59ab-engine ticking

Well you were right, they are adjustable. I still have to check the adjustment of the valves but I found that the sheetmetal cover is very loose that goes on the middle tube in the valley. It looks like a rivet holds it on? Is there a way to tighten it up? I’m not sure if this could be the...

    1939 Mercury w/ 59ab-engine ticking

Thanks everyone. I’m sure once I get to that point I will have some more questions. I’m use to working on sbf’s, not flatheads so I appreciate the guidance.

    1939 Mercury w/ 59ab-engine ticking

Yes I did poke around a little bit. I want to say its coming somewhere in the area of cylinders 3&4. I placed a screwdriver on the intake/head area and the other end to my ear and I think the tick intensified. I'm guessing pulling the intake is the next move.

So it wasn’t the plug wire. Here’s the link to a short video: https://youtube.com/shorts/bCGD14U7yms?si=moOz9hH2JUtf4gu5

    Yeah I know next to nothing about this engine and the previous owner didn’t know much either. Here’s what I got for numbers: 1:125 2:120 3:120 4: 125 5: 120 6:125 7:120 8:130

    1939 Mercury w/ 59ab-engine ticking

Well the compression results are good. All are between 120-130. Looking at the plug wires it seems they are copper core wires. The car has been converted to 12v and has a Mallory electronic ignition. I’m probably going to replace those while I’m at it. Once I get that done hopefully the tick has...
