Thanks for the information. I haven't been out to the shop to try it, too cold. Nobody said whether you need the key to make it turn to the acc position. The old Merc didn't come with a key.

I removed the ignition switch because the key that came with the old car is worn out or the key needs to be replaced. I see you can purchase the key and the tumbler assembly without having to replace the complete ignition switch assembly. So there must be a way to get the tumbler assembly out...
