    Moto-meter flip cap gasket

I looked at 3 different places and came up empty today. The OD is 1 7/8”. Or I’m sure the equivalent metric would work as well. I found plenty with the right diameter but none thick enough. I too am curious at the correct dimensions that would be a successful fit.

Thanks guys, I’ll try the o ring fix. I hope it’s not something worse!

    Moto-meter flip cap gasket

Hi gents, supposed to drive to a show tomorrow so took the 31 out for a rip and ended up puking rad fluid all over the car. Upon further investigation I stumbled upon my own stupidity and forgot to install the gasket that goes under the flip portion of the cap:mad:! It’s gone, vanished...

    Gas pedal/accelerator linkage

Not 100 percent sure it’s a model A part. It bolts right on to the block just above the bell housing as it should. As mentioned the linkage works great. Anyway, I just finished grinding it down and cutting threads in it. Took 10 minutes and pedal screws on tight. Thanks for your input guys!

    Gas pedal/accelerator linkage

Hey gents, so I bought a screw on gas pedal as my car was missing one. Turns out upon closer inspection that have a flange or knob at the end of my linkage where the pedal is supposed to go. Did the model A ever have this? Or is it from a different model??? Any ideas on what to do? Grind it...

    Rotor free play

Thanks for all the replies you guys. The engine is timed and runs very well. I won’t worry about the position of the rotor as far as play goes once the engine is stopped. Just one of those “but shouldn’t it do this” questions when you lay awake at night🫤

    Rotor free play

I didn’t describe that very well, the movement I see on the rotor is the movement of the play in the shaft. The rotor itself is snug on the cam.

    Rotor free play

Thanks for the reply guys. I don’t think I was very clear with my question. I just want to know if there is a position that the rotor should be in when the car is turned off. If the rotor moves back and forth let’s say 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch (free play)as it sits on the cam, when the engine...

    Rotor free play

Hello gents. I understand all about the slop or free play adjustment on the distributor cam/shaft. Les Andrew’s states all test light on/off adjustments to be made with the distributor cam full clockwise. Other recommends like Nu-wrench basically say the same thing……take out the slop by...

    More powerhouse issues??

Sorry for the terminology here………so the “third brush” is the adjustable on the powerhouse …I know it’s defined as that on the autolite gens. Just want to be clear that the field coil wire is attached to the ADJUSTABLE brush. Apologies again If this is basic 101 stuff……..foggy brain this...

    More powerhouse issues??

So one thing I just discovered while looking at pictures of the powerhouse. Which wire is attached to the adjustable brush on a 3 brush gen? My adjustable brush is connected directly to the output terminal on the generator. But it looks like the field coil wire should be attached to the...

    More powerhouse issues??

So electrical is not my specialty. I just can’t get my head wrapped around my initial question. Although I appreciate your help you guys. If everyone says the terminal shouldn’t be grounded to the case, but the field coil IS on one end grounded to the case that would make the other end...

    More powerhouse issues??

Hey guys….I’m still trouble shooting my Powerhouse gen. I understand there should be no continuity from the terminal wire or post that exits the gen body to the case itself. But mine does. I removed that wire from the adjustable brush…..it’s a 3 brush unit, and there is no short or...

    Electrical gremlins

It looks like the mounting brackets are different from the powerhouse. Will I need to do any mods to install the correct or non Powerhouse gen? Or should it bolt right in?

    Generator wanted

Hi guys……it’s difficult getting parts shipped to Canada. Maybe not difficult but very time consuming as far as shipping goes. Anyway…..anyone in western Canada that has a working gen they want to sell? I have a 31 Roadster but it has a Powerhouse gen on it that I can’t get to run properly...
