I was going to swap out Dist. wires with a new unused uncut set of wires but wondered if the 6v Vs 12v would be an issue? All advice is appreiated...

Thanks, i am going to inquire from my DMV and Troop as to whether or not that is legal. It is cool looking though and Im sure make things a lot easier to identify. After looking at a suggested website(vanpeltsales.com) I also found specific locations for VIN stamping.

I am concerned about the current number location getting painted over or fading due to rust and age. I will be doing a "gradual long term" restoration so for now I filled the numbers with white and then lightly sanded the area so they stand out....then covered with a clear.

Welcome, I just acquired a 1947 Ford Super Deluxe. The members here at the Barn have been great. Im still in the process of trying to navigate the site, and locate members who may live close or may have a similar model and add them to my lists. Have you posted any pictures?
