Mine has someone's initials carved into it. I was thinking of restoring the wheel when I thought about all the people that must of touched that wheel. I didn't restore the wheel, so when I am driving my car all those "hands" are with me for the ride!
Just found out the land has been sold. Fifty years comes to an end. This was some of my deepest memories back in the late sixty's with my dad looking at all the old car parts and dreaming about how to rebuild them.
Sad :(
If the water is boiling over, let cool down, don't touch it. Even though its not pressurized it can boil out the top. Also the steam can burn you very quickly.
The radiator shell on my 31 is stainless steel, its 83 years old and no rust! Real stainless steel doesn't rust. There are many different grades of stainless steel. I would guess you have cadmium lug nuts mistaking sold as stainless.
I have one of Bills cams and it works great. I bought the one with the cam bearings were 5tho over and had the block cam surface turned to fit the cam.
Just wondering, what type of oil filler cap is on the engine. Has someone stuffed something in the cap to slow the blow by? Are the baffles bent, causing pressure in the crankcase?
What about the rear bearing? Isn't most of the original bearings not sealed? I have installed new bearings with the oil sealed bearings and have no leaks. I think that is the area that these leak are prone to happen.
I had a rattle/vibration at mid speeds half throttle that drove me crazy and it came from the passenger side. Had the passenger hood open one time and had the throttle revved up and noticed the steel gas line vibrating as I revved it up! I slid a rubber hose and clamp over the line and it...
Those bolts are for the front bearings cap, no antifreeze can leak from them. Maybe oil, because they go onto the oil pan. It more than likely its your water pump, I have also seen cracks in the block in that area that will cause leaks.
