    Generator/Voltage Regulator Service

I have a 39 tudor with original charging system: 6 volt positive ground. I am having issues with the charging system. Am looking for someone in the SF Bay area that has an old school charging diagnosing equipment that I can bring the system to for diagnosis. Any one suggest someplace, relatively...

    Axle coupler pin staking

I am looking for the proper procedure for fixing the pin in the coupler mating the pinion shaft to the driveshaft on my 39. I have read that this is done by staking the coupler around the pin. But when I removed the pin, the pin had been peened over the coupler. Which technique is correct?

39 Torque tube non standard bearing race

Brian, Mea Culpa; Alzheimer's has set in. By the way any tips on using the search feature? When I, for example, type in Torque Tube seal removal, I get back Torque tube answers, seal answers, making research inefficient. Other search sites allow coupling the search parameters such that your get...

39 Torque tube non standard bearing race

Yes, I am referring to 4655; most replacement guides indicate that this is a split shell that is twisted out of its detent with the appropriate tool. But the race (shell) I have is solid. Ken/Alabama; how did you remove the solid race and seal from your vehicle? I assume since it was a 39 it had...

39 Torque tube non standard bearing race

I am working through the banjo on my '39. Thought I should upgrade the torque tube while I have it out. The rest of the car is all original (what I mean is if replacement parts were used they replicated the original parts). But, when I looked at the bearing race on the torque tube (front), it...

Anyone have an experience with this installation?

    Rubber stopper on window channel?

Karl, I agree your assessment for the front door regulators; but these are for the rear on a Tudor. I don't see any provision for a slide engagement like in the front doors.

    Rubber stopper on window channel?

I have a 1939 Tudor Deluxe. I am replacing the rear window. I am about to reinstall the window. Searching the forum I found helpful instructions. One of the threads showed someone installing rubber washers onto the window channel stop...

    rotor to inner distributor clearance

Working on my 39 distributor (original style distributor). I have new inner distributor caps from Dennis Carpenter and a new old stock rotor. In the instruction sheet from Carpenter, it says, posts are purposefully tall and would need filing to achieve the correct gap of 0.003 - 0.005"...

    Oil filter oil line

I have a 39 Deluxe with original engine. I am looking to replace the oil line from the filter to the bolt on the distributor. I think the oil filter is from a later model. The oil line has a banjo fitting on one end and a pipe thread on the other end. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement?

    Door window installation

I wanted to give my feedback after accomplishing the installation of my door glass. I already had removed the interior door card (cover) and the regulator. Before removing the regulator, I would recommend marking the screw positions on the door frame, as this will align the window to the...
