    No fire

Okay. I'm working on a 36 Cabriolet. I have replaced the original distributor with a 11A rebuild from third gen. I also went with the different coil setup. Still 6 volt positive ground. I have bypassed the resister under the dash. I have 6 volts at the coil with ignition on. My ignition source...

    Torque tube 36 5 window

All is good. The car is a body off restored car done in 1989. The gentleman that owned it prior to me only put 1200 miles on it in 30 years. Everything I am working with is pretty much new. I separated the torque tube from the trans so today it all goes back together. I have a complete gasket...

    Torque tube 36 5 window

Boy I had a great time with this. Earlier I started a thread about a noise coming from the torque tube and you kind gentlemen told me the culprit was the pin that holds the driveshaft to the pinion. You were correct. Now getting to it was a challenge. I had learned that if you remove the torque...

    Head lights go out

They do share a common power. I look at the wiring diagram from Van Pelts. Everything dealing with the exterior lights goes through that switch it seems.

    Head lights go out

They did have halogen headlights but I changed them out for LED 6 volt bulbs with new reflectors so I could have the original headlight lenses.

    Head lights go out

Thanks for the responses. The system that runs the blinkers is separate with exception of being tied in to the brake lights

    Torque tube noise

My 36 is making a noise coming from the torque tube. While going down the road you can hear what sounds like a playing card in the spokes of your bike. The faster I go the faster it goes. I put it up in the air and verified that it was coming from the tube. Any suggestions or comments would be...

    Head lights go out

I have a 36 Model 68. When I touch the brakes the headlights go out, when I release they come back on. So far I have replaced the voltage regulator, rebuilt the generator, replaced the brake switch, lastly I'm ready to replace the headlight switch because looking at the wiring diagram it seems...

    Generator

Good morning fellow Ford lovers. I have a 1936 Ford Model 68. I'm just starting to chase ghost in my wiring. When I have the headlights on and touch the brake my headlights turn off, when I release they come back on. I am noticing that prior to touching the brake that the lights have an...

    Coils

Update on my coil. Got it back from Skip and it worked perfectly. I am however disappointed that I had to pay for something that broke and wasn't my fault. Principle thing with me. Thank all of you for making this easier with your inputs.
