    Stories of castings being aged

Interesting photo...I would sat there's a few thousand, and it looks like milling or boring equipment behind them? That's probably the usual steady inventory waiting to be machined ?

    Stories of castings being aged

So you saw maybe 1000 block castings out of the million or so Ford made that year?

    Stories of castings being aged

I hear stories how Ford stored engine castings outside for a year to season them. Looking for actual evidence of this practice if it actually was practiced. Old photos, engineering articles, eye witness accounts etc. Thanks

clearance for egge pistons in 32 block?

I have dealt with Ross recently....Ross offers pistons in 2618 or 4032 alloy in all sizes. 2618 is normally used in racing and the 4032 used for better longevity in street engines using tighter clearances. I also believe a few others now offer the alloy options

clearance for egge pistons in 32 block?

Some ,but not all because it depends on the alloy.Ross offers two forged piston alloys..In a 3.5 inch bore one alloy requires .0055, the other .003. And depending on use the clearance may have to be greater.

who has used 14o rear gear oil?

My vintage race bike Triumphs, like most all bikes, have straight cut ****** gears and the specified oil has always been a 90 weight GL gear oil. Some prefer to use 50 weight engine oil that is about the same viscosity as 90 weight gear oil... Of course how the gears were cut when...

who has used 14o rear gear oil?

Yes, one more time and it's been stated the 600 weight oil was specified. During searches I read that Ford changed the oil to a lighter weight when the V-8 came out? The car is a Model A running chassis left off after a builder took off the body for a freak show rod. I build vintage race...

Model A sedan rear seat frame

I removed this seat frame from a 1931 A two door sedan. The wood frame is very solid. Too bulky to ship for the price so pick it up at my place

    MAC's Auto Parts.

I got two small orders from Mac's with no issues...Shipping was high and I live 60 miles from their store...But it was still cheaper than driving there and back.

    V8 60 misfire

I checked the plugs but didn't mention it figuring it's a given.

    V8 60 misfire

Stock V8-60 with a two carburetor intake... The last two cylinders on the right side, 3 and 4, aren't firing. Here's what I have checked; Grounded spark plugs one at a time and no RPM drop with 3 and 4. The spark jumps to the grounding wire so it's getting there. Swapped wires 3 and 4 just...

    V8-60 water pump GPM

Is there any information listing the gallons per minute flow of the twin V8-60 water pumps? They sure do look like they move very little water...

    V8 60 weight

Has anyone actually weighed a complete engine with aluminum heads. Can I assume it weighs ,let's say,50 pounds less than a 221 V8?
