    53 V8 mated to 39 transmission

Trying to mate a 53 V8 to a 39 top shift transmission so I can keep the original rear and tube. Is it correct that a bell housing from a 49-53 light truck will work? Any other type of adapters available? thanks. Don

    1923 Center Door

WTB windshield frame - upper and lower - for my Center Door Sedan restoration. Are all sedans and coupe windshields the same in 1923? I also need frames for rear side windows with the pull straps. Does anyone make these? Thanks, Don

    Model T front axle

Wow, I need a good straight front axle. Every one I see at a swap meet is twisted like a licorice stick, but I am in NY

    Spring Perch installation

I ran a tap and die and I can see that the problem is with the threads in the nut. Looks like they were not cut correctly - I see lots of shiny metal on the threads and some fine shavings. Now they thread up the perch fine. Forgot that I can't rely on repro parts to fit.

    Spring Perch installation

I thought I would have fun today starting to assemble the freshly restored and painted front axle assembly. The axle and wishbone are original to my car, a 1930 April Standard Roadster. I bought new spring perches from Brattons. I was a little surprised that the nut on the bottom of each...

A Drive Down Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills 1935

Surprised not to see any Model T Fords at all. I guess they were all old cars by the mid-1930s, and certainly not classy enough for Wilshire Blvd!!

    oil pan and baffle

thanks guys, the consensus is keep the inside of the pan naked as the day it was stamped. another neophyte question: I am preparing the oil pan for bead blasting. Under the outside lip, where the bolts go through, there is a reinforcing strip of steel running around the pan. Mine is...

    oil pan and baffle

What did the factory do? Was the outside of the oil pan dipped, brushed or sprayed with black enamel? Or lacquer? Why are we working on Model A's and not Model U's?

    oil pan and baffle

I am having the pleasure to reassemble my rebuilt short block. The oil pan and interior baffle have been cleaned with industrial soap down to the bare metal. Should the inside of the oil pan and baffle be given a light coat of paint, zinc chromate, or left as bare metal? I could not find...

    crank pulley and key

I filed the top sharp edges of the key very very slightly, filed the slot in the original pulley, a little at a time, and squared off the curve of the top of the slot on the pulley to get the pulley to seat securely on the key and bottom out on the oil slinger. I agree with Mr. Miller that I...
