    Reducing Agreed Value

Brent, thanks so much for the explanation of how the insurance works. I've insured one or two drivable antiques since 1979 and had no idea about this.

    Emergency Brake Cross Shaft Installation

I am installing it on a 1929 frame. The brake shaft does not go through the side rails. The diagram in Bratton's catalog shows the spring outside the brass cup which they call a brass bushing or bearing.

    Cleaning Gas Tank 'in place'

How exactly is the collected debris "recovered"? Also how would you remove the magnets if you wanted to? Thanks.

    Emergency Brake Cross Shaft Installation

When installing the emergency brake cross shaft that goes between the side rails, do the springs go inside the brass cups on both ends or are they installed between the cup and the bracket? The descriptions in the parts catalogs seem contradictory. Thanks.

    Engine Stalling

Patrick L. thanks for the additional information. My in-tank filter is a Snyder's A-9193-T ("gas tank screen"). I assume this is the "taller fuel pickup" that you are referring to? Also I found your comment about being sure the fuel line from the sediment bulb to the carburetor be all...

    Engine Stalling

It is a 1930. Will check gas cap tonight. Patrick L., the fuel screen in tank has the outlet end pushed into the top of the fuel shut-off nipple but don't understand what you are referring to as standard versus 1/2 inch? Also what would cause boiling of gas in carburetor? Radiator is brand new...

    Engine Stalling

After driving my Model A for about 30 minutes and the tank is about half full it begins to act like it is running out of gas and stalls. Sometimes it will be idling smoothly in the driveway and just dies. It won't immediately re-start and I have been siphoning out the gas, cleaning the sediment...

    Brake Adjusting Wedge

After restoring all four brakes with new shoes, same length rods, etc. I can't get rid of the drag in the right rear. I suspect it is the adjusting wedge. To get the brake to lock up according to the method in Andrews book, I have to tighten the wedge all the way but at that point it...

    Oil Pan Fit

I just took down my oil pan to correct leaks at both the rear and front (neoprene) seal. While removing the pan, I discovered that the rear of the pan was imbedded into the cork rear seal. The groove created is lined with black silicone - see pictures. In fact it looks like someone even...

    Shifter Problem - Swivels!

Thanks for the quick replys. It was 14 degrees this morning in NH so as soon as it warms up I'll check it out. Since this tower and gear shift was done by one of the big parts company I am a little annoyed!

    Shifter Problem - Swivels!

My gear shift lever swivels freely in the housing. I had the transmission tower professionally rebuilt a little over a year ago with a repro chrome lever. It gave me no advanced warning. With the car not running, I can change gears through feeling for them. Can someone tell me what I am in...

    Transmission Retainer Plate

I can't stop a leak I have around the cluster gear shaft at the rear of the transmission. I have an early transmission with the thicker retainer plate. The descriptions for the transmission seal kits state they will only work with the thinner 1/8" plates. I've tried sealing with the blue...
