    37 ford brakes

My passenger side front brake drags. It only happens after they get hot, and when I don't come to a complete stop. If I stop completely they retract. If I use them to slow down, like when taking corner the passenger side front wheel drags. The shoes, and wedges are new, and I also have a...

    V8 60 with mitchell overdrive.

Just an update here guys. I took a gamble and bought a Mitchell overdrive for my 37 P/U with a 60hp. The one that offered the 25% RPM reduction. I will have to say, the gamble paid off. That little 60 pulls that overdrive like it was meant to be there. I am very happy. So if you have a V8...

    V8 60 with mitchell overdrive.

Did anyone consider the torc? V8 60's have a flat torc curve. 95ft/lb starting at 500rpm through the RPM range. Torc is what's going to pull that over drive right? My math says at 50MPH I will run 2700rpm. When I turn on a 36% OD I will be running just under 1700rpm with 95Ft/lb of torc...

    V8 60 with mitchell overdrive.

Thanks for the input. Gives me something to think about. The 60 is certainly a odd ball. Damm thing sounds like a 460 whin I fire it up in the shop, but it has less C.I. Then a Honda Civic. LOl. Go figure.

    V8 60 with mitchell overdrive.

Mine screams at 50mph. I run out of rear end way before I run out of motor. Just don't know if it can handle a 4th gear. Thought I would ask before I bought.

    V8 60 with mitchell overdrive.

Looking at installing a Mitchell overdrive in my 37 pickup with a V8 60. It has the stock 4:44 rear end and a newly rebuilt motor. Has anyone done this yet?

Thanks guys, I'm looking to wake up my little 60hp. Not looking for huge power, just enough to run a good hwy gear.

    Turbo charging a flathead

I have read that you don't get much gain from turbo charging a flatead. It's said that it's due to the exhaust running through the water jackets. Why is that? Exhaust pressure is what makes the turbo work, where does temp come in to play?

They all look the same in pictures. is there that difference they appear to have a lot of the same parts, but just sized different? Can't I just change the main jets and PV?

    steomberg 97 Issues

Update. My little V8 60 is still stumbling. But after more tinkering I have more information. It's a stromberg 48, not. 97. I was told it was a 97. It has #48 main jets, and a #65 power valve. The motor has a stock rebuild, with stock intake. When it's cold pulling the choke helps the...

    steomberg 97 Issues

It's got a fresh rebuild on it. It's bored 30 over. Didn't wanna do a cam because they want an arm and a leg for adjustable lifters. It's a good strong motor for a 60. It sounds bigger then it really is. I'll keep you guys posted
