Does anyone know the size of the glass for the rear window on the F250. I had a window cut but it seems a little big. I want to try and give the glass tech a proper measurement. I tried making a template but it definitely wasn’t perfect. I am thinking of removing an 1/8th all the way around. If...
Hi Folks, i have been on a bit of a hiatus and i am just starting to get back into working on the old 53 F250. I noticed I have a slight lean to the drivers side. I checked the springs and it looks like i have a couple of broken leaf's on the drivers side. I was thinking of hitting the local...
I am thinking of installing a reverse tilting hood kit on my 53 F250. I am having a very hard time trying to get a proper alignment and it seems the reverse opening style is a bit more forgiving. Is the F100 hood set up the same as the 250? There seems to be alot of kits for the f100 but I...
I am installing a new wiring harness in a 1953 M250 Classic. I have upgraded to a 12 v but everything else is original. The new harness came in a box of parts with the truck. It seems like the directions are referring to a different headlight switch then the one I have. Almost like something...
I am about to install the box on my 1953 Mercury M250 Classic and I was wondering if I should put some sort of material between the box rails and the frame? The rails have the original hardwood peices. The 4 mounts (two at the front and two at the rear are metal to metal. Any suggestions?
I am thinking about putting tubes in a set of 17 inch tubeless tires to use on a 1953 F250 I am restoring. I cannot find tubeless rims to fit the large hubs on that truck. The rims are ok and not split rims. I figure I am not driving it far or fast so I am looking for some advice. I know you...
Hi, I am getting closer to the end of my 1953 Mercury M250 Classic restoration (same as the Ford F-250), and I am looking for some information on rims and the bench seat. The truck is all original but the current rims are not the widow makers. However they are not tubeless rims and I would like...
Looking for the Belt size for the water pumps/generator and the fan belt for a 1953 F250 with a 239 8BA engine. The intake is stamped 8BA/8RT. I know the pulleys are for the wide belts.
Thanks
I purchased a new 17 gallon tank for my 53 F250 from LMC Trucks and at the time the 45 degree fittings for the pick up tube to fuel line were back ordered. Now they do not offer them at all. Does anyone know the size for those fittings or what I can purchase? The part number from the catalogue...
I am rebuilding a 239 flat head for my Merc M250 and I am looking for new plugs and wires. I have upgraded the 6V to 12V including the coil. Most every part I seem to need is something I have to order in from the U.S. I live and Canada and I was hoping I could get these at NAPA or something...
Hi folks, I replaced the master cylinder on the truck I am restoring and low and behold I have a leak at the copper gaskets that seal the bolt and distribution block to the master cylinder body. I was wondering if anyone new the exact dimension of those gaskets. There is a front and a rear...
I replaced the clutch disk and pressure plate in the truck I am working on and the 17-20 foot pounds of torque seems a little light to me. It’s my first clutch replacement on something other then a naval destroyer so I don’t have much to compare it too. Any words of wisdom?
