    Spindle Wear

Thanks guys, that all makes sense!

    Spindle Wear

Thanks gents, I'm used to more modern stuff (40's - 60's) where a spindle like this would predict certain disaster. The edges near the inside of the spindle are very sharp, not something I would expect to see on a component like a spindle. Could it be wear of some sort or would they actually...

    Spindle Wear

Is this something I should be afraid of, or am I ok to continue driving on this spindle? I haven't looked at the other side yet but I doubt it's any better.

    Fuel pump oddity

I'll give it a try this weekend and report back. Thanks!

    Fuel pump oddity

I'm afraid to try that solution on mine, because if for some reason the rod really is too long or something is out of whack, I can't imagine what would happen when the rod came up under load! I haven't tried another pump because this is the only one I have. Seems like it should work since it...

    Fuel pump oddity

My intake is labeled 8CM, same as the block, so I know that isn't my problem. But darned if I know what IS my problem! I'm not comfortable just cutting down the rod to fit. It came with this engine so it should work!

    Fuel pump oddity

Thanks guys, first please note that in the photo above the pump is sitting flush because the camshaft lobe is down. When up, the fuel pump comes WAY up, probably 1/2". I just didn't take a photo of that when i had a chance. - The engine is back together and nearly ready to run, so the...

    Fuel pump oddity

When mounting the fuel pump to my 8CM, the rod seems to be about 1/2" too long because when the cam is as full rise, the pump sits about 1/4'1/2" off the intake manifold. The rod is seated in the receptacle of the pump. Is there something I'm missing here? I got the engine disassembled but...

    1925 Pickup Bed Dimensions

Thanks, that's great info. I guess the only thing I'm not clear on is why the bed is mounted so far forward on mine. I thought the touring body was longer than the pickup body. Not so?

    1925 Pickup Bed Dimensions

Here's the best shot of the side that I could find. I've lightened up the truck in the photo so you can see it better. Also in case it makes a difference, this is a Canadian-built T. It has doors on both sides.

    1925 Pickup Bed Dimensions

Yeah, it does appear to be a touring body. I've been told that the factory offered them this way. Is that incorrect? Would having the touring front body mean the bed sits farther forward or back than normal? I always thought the fender arcs on the bed didn't line up with the actual fenders...

    1925 Pickup Bed Dimensions

You guys are great! Thanks again. If you need a cover for this sort of thing, Big Sky Car Covers in Montana has a pattern and are making me one. They're even making it custom to fit the wood slats I've installed along the top of the bed. Keep 'em on the road!

    1925 Pickup Bed Dimensions

Thanks, I didn't know there was a metal bed for '25. The previous owner installed this '26 bed which appears to be the same one in your ad above. So to restate my question properly... anyone know the difference in measurements between the '25 and '26 metal beds? Here is what I have now...
