    Mystery Stall

I forgot to mention that the Salem Diner is on Loring Av. in Salem, MA. It's on the National Historic Register and it's one of two Sterling Streamliner dining cars left in MA. It is still in operation as far as I know. I should also mention that the photograph was taken by a gentleman named...

    Mystery Stall

Thanks for all the replies. It looks like we're leaning towards ignition problems. I'm bringing the car to Tommy Caruso's shop tomorrow. He's in Tyngsboro,MA and I hear he is the Flathead Guru in this area. I mentioned that the car has a Mallory electronic ignition and he said that he's had...

    Mystery Stall

I took my '37 Coupe for a drive Saturday afternoon and about two miles from my house the engine died while I was driving it. I tried starting it and it felt like it wanted to catch but it never did. Ultimately, the engine just spun and spun and it wasn't even close to wanting to start. Good...

    1937 Ford Spare Tire Lock

nospartsman hit it perfectly; I have the 5/16" "J" bolt that is held to the trunk floor with the loop in the trunk floor pan. I think that all I need is the special double nut in the 5/16" threaded ID size as opposed to the 1/2" special nut that I currently have. Does anyone have that special...

    1937 Ford Spare Tire Lock

I just purchased a spare tire lock and it fits in the bracket nicely but there's one problem: the special nut that came with the lock is approx. 1/2" ID and the stud mounted in my trunk is 5/16". Are the special nuts available in the 5/16" size and would it fit my lock that has 40011 engraved...

Production Date based on Body number?

How can I determine the production date of my '37 coupe based on the body number. I tried searching the archives but I couldn't find anything. The car has a later engine so that number will be of no use to me. Thanks.

    '37 Ford coupe trunk mat?

Ahhhhh! My car is a Standard as well and it has tannish cut-pile carpeting. Tres elegant. Mine is an 87k mile car with 99% original paint and interior so it might be nice to have the pebble-grained paper material you speak of. I'll go on LeBaron Bonney's website. Thanks for the help.

    '37 Ford coupe trunk mat?

I don't know if I'm missing something but I cannot seem to find a trunk mat for my '37 Ford coupe. I've gone on numerous websites and looked at vendor catalogs and everyone seems to skip over the '37 model year. Does anyone know a supplier who carries them? Any help appreciated.

Convert 37 Ford radio to 12 volt?

Thanks for all the great replies. I have to admit that I want the original radio as much for aesthetics as anything else; it just looks cool. The fact that it will bring in stations is a bonus. As an aside, I'm on several different forums and this has, by far, the most helpful, courteous...

Convert 37 Ford radio to 12 volt?

I'm thinking of installing a stock radio in my '37 coupe but it has been converted to 12 volts. Can a stock '37 Ford radio be switched over to 12 volts? If so, what would be involved in the conversion? Thanks.
