1953 Ford Fordoor Window Regulator Roller Install

I bought some of the aftermarket (Dennis Carpenter) window rollers. White Plastic roller , cupped washer, Flat washer, a spring, and retainer clip. I am attempting to put them back into the window channels and they don't seem to fit and ride in the channel all that nicely. (Even with a good...

I bought some of the aftermarket (Dennis Carpenter) window rollers. Teflon roller with a cupped washer, Flat washer, a spring, and retainer clip. I am attempting to put them back into the window channels and they don't seem to fit and ride in the channel all that nicely. (Even with a good...

1953 Ford 4 door rear vent window weatherstrip

What's more fun than stealin bags of silver rings? Pressing rubber seals back into the vent window frames.

1953 Ford 4 door rear vent window weatherstrip

Finished the re-assembly and the Metro Rubber Products WR-3311-R seal fit perfectly. Who would have guessed? Picture of window with seal attached.

1953 Ford 4 door rear vent window weatherstrip

I think I have great news. On a long shot. I bought the 1949-1951 Mercury 4 door rear vent WR-3311-R seals from Shoebox Central. They are Metro MP made seals. They delivered Saturday. I haven't put them in the frame yet but they match up perfectly to my old seals. Length 27", the hinge pin and...

1953 Ford 4 door rear vent window weatherstrip

Ok. Talked with Brian at Concours. They don't have them and last had them in 2007. He referred me to Metro MP who supplied them to Concours. Metro does not have them and quit making them do to worn out tooling and I suspect low demand. Sophia at Metro is not giving up though and I am going to...

1953 Ford 4 door rear vent window weatherstrip

Thanks for the lead. Looks like they only have the fronts not the rears. I am looking for part numbers BA-7326894-A and BA-7326895-A

1953 Ford 4 door rear vent window weatherstrip

Does anybody know where I can find the rear vent window rubber seals for my 1953 Ford 4 door Customline. I have searched all the websites and called the vendors that I am familiar with including Dennis Carpenter, Macs, Shoebox Central, Steele Products, Classic Parts, Ebay etc.. The seals are...

Mercury Monarch Steering Wheel fitment on ford cars

From the photos the Mercury wheel looks very similar to my Ford. Kochs has a Mercury 3 spoke that I think would be a nice add for my Ford. It seems Ford and Mercury shared many part designs. Maybe the steering columns? Thanks

Awful sounding Head rattle on new rebuild

Sorry the album was set to private. It is now public. I am feeling more confident that the problem is not in the bottom end. (Maybe just hopeful) I drained the Brad Penn oil through 3 layers of cheese cloth into a pan as GB Sisson recommended and no metal. I slowly poured the oil into my...

Awful sounding Head rattle on new rebuild

I posted pictures in my 53 Ford Album of the head and the right deck surface. Does this seem like an extreme amount of carbon for a 60 minute old engine? I'll drain the oil and advise what I find.

Awful sounding Head rattle on new rebuild

Well I cracked the head off. The head looks fine from the inside. No signs of anything banging on it. I am not sure exactly what to look for at this point without removing the valves and pistons. Any body have some thoughts? Amazing how fast the carbon soot has built up after about 1 hour of...

Awful sounding Head rattle on new rebuild

Pulled the intake manifold back off as a starter. Everything visually looks in place. All horseshoe clips are on and the spring retainers look to all be in place. Valve stems are riding on the lifters. I am going to pop the head off next.
