Apparently this is not a T Bird engine as the customer was led to believe , If I leave the spacer out is there a way to cool this engine more ? - It also only has one fan belt but has a lower pulley for 2 belts that is what is making me wonder exactly what has been swapped on this engine Thanks...

We are resealing a 1955 T Bird engine for a customer and addressing an overheating issue - I order a new water pump and a stainless baffle but I believe the spacer is missing from this engine , I have about a 1 1/2 inches of clearance behind the water pump impeller and front cover housing. Could...
