The history.
It started as a father - son project when I was 16 YO. It took about 2.5 trucks to make one. It's all original sheet metal except for the rear fenders. The major work was done between 1972 - 1980. It was stored for probability 25 years. Put in a new motor (original had a cracked...
Saddly today my generator mount broke and pitched the fan into my radiator.
I have several questions.
Does anyone repair these old radiators? Mine is the original style with the CU tubes.
If no who makes replacement radiators?
Generator mount? Are there newer (better metal) generator...
Adam. Thanks for the walker part #. I will verify the input and output pipe diameters and order one, if it's correct, otherwise I will make a trip to NAPA.

I'm looking for a after market muffler for my 36 pick up. I don't want to pay $350, for a Ford script reproduction. Does anyone know if there is a generic one that will interface with the existing stock exhaust system?

Does anyone know the thread size for the temperature sensor that goes into the left water pump?
I'm asking because I'm trying to see if this might be work around solution for the stock gauge...
Pat thanks for the suggestion. I use clear Poly tape (clear gorilla tape) on my SUP to protect the rails. I will try it, after I touch up the damaged paint.

Any suggestions on how to protect the paint on pickup running boards from shoe damage? I don't think there was any rubber step mat, like there is on a sedan.

Yes I have an after market fluid style as a reference. It reads 10-15 PSI at warm-hot idle, which is about right for a 40 Lb pump.
I suspect that it's the sender as the needle goes past full scale with the engine off, then drops down.
What kind of sender should I try to find - get?

I have a 50lb oil pump and a 50lb sender. I have a 80lb sender in my spair parts box. It's a stock gauge (I think it's a 34 car) in a 36 pickup.

Does anyone know how to adjust a 36 oil pressure gauge. Mine reads high compared to my after market fluid type, which I think is probably more accurate.

Bill. Thanks. Yes I will stop messing with this issue until the Spring (when it warms up), and see if the white smoke (steam), goes away.
I guess it's telling me to get out of the shop, and go Skiing. [emoji106]

The more I think about this problem. I'm starting to think that it's a crack leaking water into a cylinder when it gets hot enough. Does this make sense? I'm not sure because at no time do I see any bubbles in the water (radiator).

Thanks. Yes I was worried that opening up the advance might be a bad idea. It really didn't make it any better and I only got a few degrees (via timing light) anyway.
I'm getting it hot by putting a plastic bag over the grill.
Skip set them up (3 of them), he said they all checked out OK. I...
