    '55 272 w/ Overdrive

Guys, I have a related question that could also have meaning to the OP. In the 50s there were both 6 Volt and 12 Volt cars with overdrive. Will the solenoid activate with either voltage, or is each unit voltage specific?

1972 F100 Shortbed what should i sell it for?

Do your research. The bumpsides are bringing big $$ over most of the country. I sold my 72 LWB a couple months ago for 5000. It was original body wise, very straight but had a good bit of rust. I have seen several since, 5500-7500 range. North Florida here

    wiper motor question

So....no one knows if a 56 wiper motor will fit into a 55? If the 55 has been converted to 12 volts?

    Transmission swap

I have read through this a few times and am still a bit unclear......First off, I don't think you have a 2 spd auto in a 57, unless it was added. I think the 2 spd wasn't introduced until 59, or maybe 58. Early Fordomatics only shifted once if started in Drive. You had to start in low to get...

    Lincoln ECU Alternate Transmission Options

What is your car? It sounded in your first post, that you had something with an FE. Now are you saying your car is a (big) Y block Lincoln? It would likely be easier to help if we knew what exactly you are trying to achieve better mileage on. And no, the FE pattern is completely different from...

    Lincoln ECU Alternate Transmission Options

All FE Fords do have the same bolt pattern. No C4 or Aod (factory) will bolt to it. A FMX (no overdrive) is doable if you could find the bell for a FE. No overdrive ever came on an FE automatic. There are adaptors made, but they are expensive. Some guys on the old FE forum even made some...

    Another oddball question..mirrors.

I've got a FoMoCo accessory mirror from the 60's. It is square and would require a hole drilled in the door for sure. If you are interested I will try to find a picture for you.

    1966 t bird

Does this guy own the car, and the shop? It would be a long time before I drove that far again to see it. I see some pretty nice driver 65 and 66s here in Fl for 5-6K.

    400M in a 58 Fairlane

The early 400s are great engines and will run like a raped ape. After the first couple years, not so much. I would never put a 351M in an early Galaxie or Fairlane. There are so much better choices in the Fe's or even later smallblocks. Actually I would not put a 351M in my neighbors chebby.

Pull the engine and ****** ?

Be careful not to let the tailshaft housing kiss the windshield.

    paint on a 65 comet

In my old fashioned opinion, no. I think your Comet came originally with acrylic enamel, rather than lacquer. I would have it repaired with acrylic enamel. It is harder to do a spot repair but very doable. But hey, if they guarantee to your standard it may be ok. I never liked a clear coat over...
