Few months back I was thinking I had issues with my push rod but after returning two repro fuel pumps I finally figured out it was the fuel pump. My push rod was fine, exact length it should be but the new fuel pumps they make for these flatheads were off bigtime. My third fuel pump worked.

Hoop, I have a friend of a friend coming over this afternoon to inspect it for me.....a guy about 75 that has worked with these transmissions many times, he has about 5 flatheads at the moment. Thank goodness for the "old timers"!!

Thank you. I will check that out.....I would stick with the cast iron originals but from the looks of the studs where the pipe connects it will be a fight to get those old studs out....they have pretty much rusted into the cast iron itself. Some pitting too.....

Removed the cast iron exhaust manifolds....I could still use these if I replace the studs but I might go with the Bob Drake headers.
