    '47 Sedan Delivery

Hi, I'm kind of new to this scene....I went from a '41 with a flathead to a '47 Sedan delivery. I like the car and will feel comfortable driving it as soon as I install a rear view camera. The side view mirror doesn't offer much when it comes to driving in traffic. My query is (not to sound a...

    1941 Ford flathead distributor

Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone can give me some direction to understand the distributor on my "41. It's stock, but I'm not familiar with this type of distributor. I'd just like to see some pictures of the assembly, how to change/adjust points and timing. My hands on engine experience didn't...

1941 V8 to auto trans adaptor

Hi and thanks to all who replied. I was afraid of the answers I'd receive...I knew it wasn't a snap to switch to an A/T, but didn't want to admit it.... I wish I could swap my car for one of the same quality with an auto, but the market for a really nice sedan just isn't there. I don't have...

1941 V8 to auto trans adaptor

Hi guys, Been a long time, but I am asking for some suggestions for an easy way to install an auto trans in my finished '41 deluxe sedan. I woke up one day and found myself to be 82 years old....still need a hotrod but can't shift the old 3 spd, any more. Does anyone sell a reasonable adaptor to...

    1941 Ford dash assembly

Thanks for the info guys. It's not exactly what I wanted to hear though....I'm guessing it's pretty tough to get the screws on the gauge side out/in. Can't quite bend like that anymore...(I'm 81)...so I guess I'll have to do a bunch of masking to paint it.

    1941 Ford dash assembly

Hi, just looking for knowledge to remove the plastic 3" high strip that runs across the dash on my '41. I would like to take it off for painting, but do not know if it is held on by clips or if there are nuts behind the dash for removal. Any advice would really be appreciated...thanks in...

    Mild lowering, 1941

Hi, I'm trying to bring my newly acquired '41 sedan a little lower to the ground without affecting the ride or basic handling characteristics. Thought I could kill two birds with one stone if I replaced the front and rear springs with Posies 2"dropped springs while I replace the shackles and...

    master cylindeer replacement

Thanks to all of you who responded...I can see (and understand) the reasoning behind each answer. I am now considering just making sure every component is in top shape. Over the years, I've had many rods and stockers with both single and dual setups. I have never experienced a failure...probably...

    master cylindeer replacement

Wow! Thanks to both 48 F-1 pickup and 39 Portlander for the immediate information! That is exactly what I was searching for. At 80, I don't feel like building my own adaptors, etc. Time is of the essence!!! Thanks again, Tony

    master cylindeer replacement

Hi, Does anyone know of an easy conversion method to convert the master cylinder in my 1941 sedan from a single piston to a dual system? I know the original is O.K., but for safety's sake, I would like to have a dual system. It is a stock 3-speed, so there is a clutch assembly to consider. I...
