I fought this problem and all of the carburetor adjustments to no avail. Finally, I replaced my intake manifold with a verified flat surface, new gasket and the problem was solved. My advice is to make sure you check for an intake manifold vacuum leak when troubleshooting your problem.

MAG, thank you for the pictures, we were able to compare a working wig wag and realized that wire was missing. In addition to a bad winding we are working to create that wire flag.

I have a vintage Wig-Wag License Topper that will wig, but not wag. I have secured a couple of the wires, but I obviously have not achieved something correct to have it wag back and forth. I do not understand the mechanism to create the magnetic pull and then the release for the spring to go...

We will have 7 Model A's touring from the Hawk A Model A Ford Club in Cedar Rapids, IA, 5 of those will be driving from Cedar Rapids, and two will trailer to Auburn. Lets hope for low humidity and decent temps. We are look forward to an enjoyable tour.

It might just be my experience, but even with new clam shell gaskets, after filling with grease I only have to drive a few miles at highway speed and I have globs of grease out the back of the clam shell.

Thank you everyone for your support and responses. I have a set of modern style fittings ordered and I will freeze a new one and press it in. I have the tool to do that, but the fitting is an angled one so the tool I have may not help. If this doesn’t work I will report back.

I have a stripped zerk fitting on my steering spindle. I cleaned it and used some JB Weld but a day later when I applied pressure from the grease gun it blew out again. Can I tap it with another size fitting? Are there over sized zerks? Thanks

I had the same problem and my cause was a small crack in my exhaust manifold that caused the fumes to ignite, sometimes up to 45 seconds after turning the engine off. Until I could replace the manifold I turned off my gas and starved the engine to shut it off. Prior to doing that I had upset...

I have two of the Wagner 6 Volt Alternators with their Fit Kits and am pleased with them, but I am trying to reach them and I can't seem to get the web site to open and their phone goes to message and hangs up. It might be on my end, but I was wondering if they were still open.
