Are the inside nuts welded or attached to the inside ring or is the ring threaded? Once I take of the outside plate off I don't want loose nuts/bolts in the pan. Thanks!

I plan to remove the clean out plate/cover when I change the oil and not remove the pan. Can I do this from under the truck? Thanks,

Before I take off the clean out round plate on the oil pan, is there a gasket there? It looks like it but can't tell if it's copper or felt. What am I getting into? Any tricks/ Thanks, Stu

As a followup to my last post. I thought you'd want to know the rest of the story. As Ken suggested I took out the float and sure enough it was 80% full. I don't know how it got in there but needless to say it wasn't much of a "float". Put in new float and economizer valve and she runs great...

Yesterday, starting out on a nice day run, the truck bucked and quit. When I opened the hood gas was running out of the bottom of the carb. I start the truck with an electric pump and then shut it off. Did I stick the float or blow the power valve? any idea? thanks, Stu
