Model A Fords at N.C. Transportation Museum

I thought this might interest some people here. The NCTM at Spencer, NC is having some car shows, and one of these is a Ford day on August 1. This is all on their website and Facebook page. Here is a link: http://nctrans.org/Events/Auto-Shows-2015.aspx

    Model A CRASH??

I know that a lot of people resent those of us who drive trucks and SUV types, but I don't think we drive any more aggressively than the Camry, foreign sports car and Prius-types. The simple fact is that trucks and SUVs have a lot of utility these days, compared to small cars, and that makes...

    30 Tudor work

Agreed! I have always loved the Model A Ford, even if I am mostly a GM kind of guy otherwise.

    30 Tudor work

Thanks, Mike. I have admired your car and used it as inspiration! I am working on it at my own slow pace, having had it since the seventies, but not really restored in the true sense. As I have said previously, I don't intend to make it a show car, but want to stay true to the original...

    30 Tudor work

I am sorry to say that the windshield glass is in poor condition, being cracked and foggy. It was apparently replaced several decades earlier, too, so it is not original. The driver's window is broken and jagged. Have not yet tackled getting the screws out and removing the old glass and rubber...

    Bonnie and Clyde's A?????

The death car was not a Model A, as Stouchton has noted. I seem to recall seeing the 34 displayed at the 1964 World's Fair in NYC when I was a teenager.

    30 Tudor work

Just thought I'd post a little update on my 1930 Model A activity here. A couple of my buddies and I have been working on "Miss Annie" during the summer and fall of 2014. --Stripped old poorly-done paint from the late seventies, and removed dents and some small rust spots in the body. Primed...

Living in the south with a Model A

Just wanted to say I am glad to see you back on this forum, Mr. Bill! David, in NC, owner of "Miss Annie", 1930 Tudor.:)

Living in the south with a Model A

It's in the sixties here for the last couple of day. I was born and raised right here in eastern NC, and really do love my state. We do have some oppressively hot and humid summers, but that is to be expected in the South. I like to see at least one big snow in the winter and don't mind the cold...

    Model A car names

In recent years, I have taken to calling my standard black Tudor "Miss Annie"...mostly as it reminds me of a prim and proper conservative old lady and the name starts with "A"...... and I thought it just ought to have a name starting with the letter "A". It was not a family car, as my family...

    Biker's

Back when I first got mine in running shape, I took it to a couple of local parades and stayed around afterward to meet and greet people. I was surprised at the interest from young women! They were asking for rides. Being a 30-something single man, I was happy to oblige. But it was the car that...

Our Model A wreck in Austin, TX

This right here----excellent advice to follow. Dates, times, and details tend to fade from memory sooner than we think. I'd also go photograph that intersection from several viewpoints. Very sorry to see this incident--I was enjoying following the trip.

Restarting a model A after 64 years of sitting.

That looks like a great car! I have a 30 Tudor, as well, so am very interested in your project. From what is said on this forum by experienced people, be sure to check your fan for cracks before running the car. Good luck, David in North Carolina

This is a chore I have ahead of me, and I am therefore interested in any tips and experiences that will help. So thanks!

    Are all fenders the same??

Could someone post a photo of two comparing the eyebrow fenders vs other front fenders on a 1930 car?
