48-50 f1 skid strips in box

I understand the 48-50 f1 came with a steel type floor with the skid strips and wood underneath. My question is because the wheelwell protrudes maybe a half inch into the box,did it originally have the skid strips next to the box sides or just skid strips between each wood panel with a open...

    1949 Barn fresh F-1

The bench seat is black, I thought they originally came only in brown. Maybe not original, or maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, sweet truck that you should never sell....I wish my truck had a history beyond 2000!

Need help with '50 F1 "F" script heater

so it sounds like the colors have been established as charcoal metallic with gold emblems and age appropriate for the 48-50 fords. From the responses above, the question now is if this heater with the funny "f" is a firestone or ford original recirculating heater. Alot of 48-50 ford F1's seem to...

Where do the stainless steel grill bars fit in? I have a set on my 49. I do not see them in the listings for optional equipment but I do see them on original pictures of 48 or 49 f1's (ford truck times-it seems the black or white trucks have the stainless grill bars and the other colors have the...

1949 ford horn ,where located, any pictues of original?

You mention an optional horn that was available like the 51-52 series. Would have this horn been a trumpet type with rounded domeand about 17inches long. Would a single horn like the duel horns you see under the hoods of a F1 ford 51 be appropriate for my 49 F1. I have one of those.Where would I...
