These are just my thoughts: You, even with the engine Mods and a good tail wind, only have about 40 horsepower up front. A stock engine has a hard time pulling a car with overdrive. They will tend to bog, lug down and, possibly run hot. I would tend to run stock gears in the transmission and...
I am in search of any and all pieces of hardware for a 1931 Model 150B Woody Wagon. I have all the wood in the form of a kit from Pleasantville, NY. The company is out of business now and, I still need the hardware.
Thanks,
Dale
I always enjoy a thread that has a positive outcome and that, upon completion of the issue, we get a final report as to what the solution was. In this case Bratton's continues to shine, tennsmith is a happy camper and, another Model A hits the road running. Good deal!
If you are running the solid core wires with the Pertronix, it will more than likely not run right or, not run at all. I had the same experience with my car when I installed the Pertonix. Mine would run poorly for awhile and then, quit altogether. I changed the wires out (PITA) for radio...
Thanks for all the replys. I down loaded the PDF, jerseyboy. And, even though I am running a steel #1 and #2 floorboard, I can use the plans as a guide for filling the gaps.
Thanks, David. I have a metal (United Pacific) toeboard and the gap there is big enough to let water off the front wheels through. A lot of water. I'm thinking a piece of sheet metal screwed to the toeboard will do the trick.
What did Henry do to plug/cover the two large gaps that are on the left and right side of the stock toeboard? I can come up with something but, curious as to what was there.
My Bend-Pac requires 220V to raise the lift and air to release the locks in order for gravity to lower. I have 14' ceiling and can park a '31 woody wagon over a '46 Ford coupe with no problems. The wheels are borderline useless for my installation. I ran conduit for the 220 so moving the lift...
Sorry, I didn't notice that you had already been in contact with Flathead Jack. I have his top of the line linkage on 3 97's and it is very nice. And, it works.
I have a '39 trans behind an 8BA in my '32. I ordered the '32 clutch release arm from Mac Van Pelt. In order for the linkage coming off my '32 pedals to line up with the release arm, I had to use the '32 release arm. Being at work (Hah!) I have no pictures but, would be like to post tonight...
Thanks for the information, you answered my question. That is an interesting picture. It would seem that the wire going through the hole marked "4" would be better off running down through the spring. Mine does not have that hole so, I would guess, that by '46 they had done away with it.

Looking at this picture, can anyone tell me if the three screws that hold the "locking ring" to the horn ring have to be insulated? I have three different screws that all have a plastic washer under the heads. I also have one plastic collar that...
