I have lovejoys on my wagon and one of them (front Driver) seems soft based on the "push on the fender" test.. it doesn't test well. The rubber in the shock link looks okay, not cracked or falling apart. It appears to be model 1406A (maybe) hard to tell since it is pressed into the casing...

On my 35 with wires, I chose to add beads on the new tires.. I had used them in previous set. Trouble is, the beads clogged the stem.. I had to use a thin wire to break up the clog. Happened when the tire was on the car and when I had it flat on the ground and even tipped to set the stem at a 90...

Want to change the oil in my Mitchell on my 35.. Any idea of how much it will hold... gonna use 140 GL4 EDIT: sorry.. downloaded a video and he notes... 3/4qt.

So. In preparation I removed the cap and measured what was in there. … damn near nothing!!! No wonder I was feeling a little loss of control

I plan to change the gear oil.. seems I need to suck out what’s there as no drain plug? Then replace with 7 oz of 140 gear oil? Suggestions?

It's been a long time since I refurbished those in my 35, but I seem to recall that the springs were colorcoded... and mine were yellow... this might be me suffering from OLD but maybe Mick can add something here. If it turns out that they are indeed color coded then your search may be a bit easier.

here is the summary of the method he used. The set up was really pretty basic, correct size centering cone on the inside of the wheel and using the large 6" pressure cup outside on the wing nut, with some tape on the wheel for added protection. I kept double checking the readings by rotating...

I did meet up with the Hunter sales rep here in So. Maine.. He took the problem on as a challenge. Spent time with him has he pondered how to set up the wheel in his machine. He tried this and that configuration with various mountings and universal adapter settings until he found one set up...

Update: have now spoken to a number of shops and even the ones with the adapter shy away from even trying... So, I posted to the Hunter Corp and I will be visiting their local sales rep and seeing what he can do on his machine.. at the same time, still trying to locate a shop with a bubble balancer.

I bought new tires for my 35 to replace my 24 year old ones. got them mounted, then the shop couldn't get the wires (5 x 5 1/2) set properly in the Hunter machine.. something that has been noted here as an issue.. I need to find a bubble balancer (as suggested by the shop) .. I already asked 2...

Having new tires mounted on my 35 (spin balance on Hunter machine). Figure while I am at it, I will check the alignment. Shop has the alignment machine, but it might not have an old guy who understands straight axle cars with kingpins. Can anyone suggest a spot in So Maine? Been researching...

I completed my restoration in 2002. Drove my 35 all over the place for 10 years or so, and then put it in storage for a bunch of years. (twice). As previously reported, I have it back on the road and finding front end shake. Had them spun on a hunter balancer and they seem fine.. look good, etc...
