Studded tires have been banned in many states cause they tore up the road. Never saw chains outlawed. Have been places where chains were required especially in Washington state.
Depending on where you are in the USA ,you can buy chains at Tractor Supply,Les Schwab tire stores, and Sears. Probably at the other major tire dealers.
The big thing I've found with chains is put them on tight and GO SLOW.
Hope this helps, Kenny
Thank you all for your answers and pictures!
I expect that a lot of model a engines were used on generators and irrigation pumps as they became junk yard cheap.
I'll have to check out that marine conversion next time I'm up at the Gilmore.
Love to hear that Y block run sometime.
Airplanes are as...
I've seen model a engines used in airplanes and compressors. I read about them being converted for marine use but don't have any details. It seems like these motors were adapted for many more uses than just cars.
I'm hoping some of our members here can help me out with pictures or suggestions...
Thank you all for your responses.
The link to Mac's is great.
I'm buying the album.
Sorry it took so long to get back with you, my cable was out after the big storm.

Is there a book out there with good pictures of all the different body styles?
I'm looking for something like an id/spotters guide so I know what I'm looking at as I wander around the show grounds.
Thanks, Kenny
I say more power to anyone with a pacemaker or any other replacement parts who still wants to drive their A. This is a legitimate question and deserves the straight answers he's gotten.
I have a friend who had to drop a TIG class when he got his pacemaker, the doctor just wasn't comfortable...
Looks like I might need a better frame for my project, the one I've got is bent all along the right side and the front crossmember is welded in.
Are there any differences between the years or can I use whatever I can get?
This is supposedly a 31vicky, but all I've got to prove that was one...
