    Flathead blower setup

Ok, refining my choices: Have the TR Roberts Blower kit with 6-7 psi boost. Settled on the Schneider cam (Potvin grind) Edelbrock 1116 heads (low compression ratio, high lift capacity, and high air flow) The 8BA block has 258 cu inch A few Q's. The Edelbrock 1116 heads have a max lift of...

    Kong flatheads

Ok, settled on the Schneider grind (Potvin) and the Edelbrock 1116 heads (got over the desire for a rare set of heads names that would probably need machining to get the flow numbers of the 1116)

8ba Rebuild - worth the cost?

A 2 door would be better return on your total investment

    Cylinder Area

Making sure my blower setup of 6-7 psi boost will allow me to know the needed minimum octane rating to avoid pre-detonation. If I knew the surface area of bore/valve area, I would be able to determine the added volume to the head cc with the varying head gasket thicknesses, allowing for...

    Cylinder Area

Trying to do some calcs. Is there any numbers known as to the sq inch area of the head area? I can find the cubic centimeter volume from the many head mfrs but not the surface area. Reason is I'm trying to figure out how the different head gasket thicknesses affect the compression ratio.

The repop Kong heads at H&H

$2,000...not sure about the ones without the gold plating.

    Weiand heads

The 8BA ones I'm looking at have no visible stamp near nor around the water outlets. No visible marking on the gasket side either. For a 70 yr old set of heads, the chamber side surface looks better than average, so maybe it's been resurfaced eliminating the stamping. Looking for a low...

    Weiand heads

Anybody know where to look for the stamped compression numbers on the Weiand 8BA flatheads?

    Used Aftermarket Aluminum heads.

Looking the the Weiand heads for sale I can't find the stamping for the compression head type. Anybody know where the stamping numbers are located?

    Kong flatheads

The only chrome on the block is the blower and that was a mistake by TR Roberts. It initially disappointed me to see it polished. But it didn't cost me anything extra and due to shipping costs back and forth he ate the polishing cost. Am pricing to have it blasted flat to a cast aluminum...

    Kong flatheads

Read where H&H Flathead will be reproducing the KONG flatheads, since FlatAttack (my source for the Kong heads) went out of business in AU.

TR Roberts did the whole setup with a Magnuson blower and a TR designed base. The belt setup can be seen on his webpage. I added the new BIG Strombergs (250 cfm each) on a Vintage Speed dual to a quad base setup. Since the interior size of the roadster is small, I'm planning on using a 12v room...

I'll have to get back to TR Designs to see about a larger pulley (my error in the previous post, had a senior moment) for 5 lbs boost to run on 89 octane or stay with the 6-7 lb boost and run 91 octane. And if I stay with the current piston that was installed in a professional rebuild, 12,000...

My understanding FOR MODIFICATION OF THE ALUMINUM HEADS 1) Get the head surface milled For just the piston dome: 1) Measure each cylinder piston maximum height above the block deck 2) Measure each piston dome center depth of the head 3) Take into account the selected compressed head gasket...
