    Frame Brackets for Slant Window

I'm looking for a set of brackets that affix to the outside of the Slant window frame just behind the door posts. My slant frame lacks these triangular type brackets. Though they were originally riveted on, I will need to bolt them on. Please contact me if you have a set. Thanks! JCS :)

    Steering Column Loose

Hi, all...and Happy Holidays. Wonder if you can help.....looking for fixes. I rebuilt the steering column and the entire front end on a 31 SW 160B. Couple of thousand miles logged, great. Then shimmying started...now and then...normally on maneuvers to the right, at low speed. Checked the...

    Cluster Gear Quality

Fellow Model A'ers, I'm looking for a cluster gear for the trans....and I noticed there's a large swing in prices. + Mike's Affordable has a price around $160 and says his CG is made in DENMARK and that they've had "good luck" with them. Snyder's CG is at least $60 or $70 more and is...

    Rusted/stuck distributor

I did all of the above then pulled the head - and found out that it was so rusted in that it was a big effort to free it up even from the bottom side of the side! Trying every "trick in the book" - 5 weeks. Pulling the head and getting it out then putting things back together - 2 hours. JCS

    Slant Window Leaks

I just returned from a trip in the 31 Slant Window (160B) and we were in a heavy rainfall - I had not been before in this car. Water cascaded down the inside of the windshield, over the dash, soaked the carpet and my jeans from the knees down (headliner did not seem to be wet). Actually, I...

    Coker Firestone Whitewalls

Hello, Gang... At least 5 of us here in the Midwest have Coker Firestone 19" Whitewall tires that we absolutely cannot keep clean. They were all purchased in the 2009 - 2011 timeframe. They are pure hell to get clean - a true workout. Then, 2 days later they start getting that ugly yellow...

S/W 160-B Rear Carpet Install on Seat Riser

Marco...this does indeed help me very much to know that there are fasteners for that area.....now I need to chase them down. They must be different because the standard male button parts were too small a diameter for the holes in my riser...thanks again!! John Silvestri

S/W 160-B Rear Carpet Install on Seat Riser

Hi, everyone... I saw a pic somewhere here on the FB regarding attaching the rear carpeting to the rear seat riser....can't remember where. Right now the carpeting is merely pushed against the rear seat riser (and tends to fall forward)...but there are 4 or 5 holes neatly spaced across the...

Just Got My Glasses Clean - TEST

To the helpful FordBarn community: Project over. (Corrision, Tom)... Replaced all rings - compression and oil / replaced valves with the "modern Model A valves" with the one-piece guides from Richy Fallucca / replaced torn up fiber timing gear with a standard size aluminum one....(NO noise...

Just Got My Glasses Clean - TEST

Hi Tom, great to see you again at Oshkosh.... I don't know what galling is but the rings on #4 were stuck with black, sticky nasty carbon.....as I mentioned, #3, rings loose as a goose. What's acceptable ring gap? We were getting 23-25 at the top...that seems too much? Thanks! John S :)

Just Got My Glasses Clean - TEST

To all my helpful friends: So far #4 piston had stuck rings....#3 did not...which surprised me because #3 and #4 were both the low compressions ones at 50. I wish I knew that it might be worth "unsticking" them via various methods while driving....I understand that they sometimes will become...

Just Got My Glasses Clean - TEST

Dave, Mike and everyone... Thanks so much for the thoughtful responses. That's the wonderful thing about this Model A community we're part of - it's life at its best. The rear main tube was fine...and the rear main. Valve #8 spring was "leaning over" some and we found that it would not seat...
