one more thought......if i can't adapt the 37-38 cable backing plates and brakes to work with the model A braking system, is it possible to fit my model a rear backing plates, hubs and drums onto my 34 or 35 rear ? i held them in place and they would not fit down agianst the axle flange
..........if these are 37'-38' cable operated brakes, has anyone ever adapted them for use on a model A ? think it is possible to operate them with a modified rod ?
hi kurt - that may be. i am still learing here. you are right, there is a cable but i assumed that was for the emergency brake. is that how 37-38 brakes operated, by a cable and not a rod ?

hey gang - i am building a 1930 model A traditional hot rod. i installed a late 40's truck (banjo style) rear with juice drum brakes. i installed late 40's front juice drum brakes. i installed a single master cylinder and installed a 2 way fitting comming off of the cylinder and ran one line to...
well i tried hooking up a old tack as merc suggested but i couldn't get it to work (tried different wirings as well). not sure if this works or not but i didn't have any luck. might try a different tach and give it one more try.
i am selling my 1929 ford model A pick up truck. the truck is 95% complete and runs, drives and stops. the truck has the original model A drivetrain (4 cylinder with 3 speed trans.) and has a 12 volt alternator and 12 volt battery installed. this truck would make a great rat rod or driver. the...
hello....does anyone have any ideas how to hook up a tachometer to a 1950 flathead V8 ? i have read about changing the distributor to one with a tach drive or buying the original (if you can find one) mechanical drive for the crank bolt and have seen repro kits available. i don't think i want to...
