Need 13/32" socket for the GAV housing.

But beware! Not all GAV hexes are the same size. Over the years I have come across about 3 different sizes!

    correct ignition timing

Pshaw! I believe that centigual advance is a rough and ready solution-and it's one that needs setting correctly at the start but is never fully correct through the whole range, surely the BEST solution is computer mapped one ( which I hope never to see on on a Model A!:) )

    Fuel level in Zenith Carb

Yes .."..The only reliable way to measure the fuel level in the bowl is to use a tube that attaches to the underside of the carb at the drain plug under the main jet. .... You can even do it on a running engine, if you want to really see how it looks when running. and it is amazing how much it...

    Manifold Torque?

I'm totally with Alexiskai #2 on this one, and putting my head above the parapet here....but I don't think it's necessary go over 40 ft lbs for the manifold studs or nuts... simply no need to, why invite potential problems by overtightening?

    Back-fire

Yep, could be a blockage in A) the fuel supply to carb or B) within the carb itself. For A) Check there is a good flow of petrol from the tank by opening the petrol shut off valve to allow petrol to run through the pipe into a jam jar. –My Tudor empties at 350 ml per minute when half full. I...

The English de Luxe phaeton at Gilmore .

Just for veracity the portrait in page 1 of this pdf is captioned "Percival Perry 1878". It certtianly isn't ! Perry was born in 1878! Wiki via Google lens says it's Henry James Ford , an American political scientist, journalist, university professor, and government official.

The English de Luxe phaeton at Gilmore .

Photos of this car in the UK in 1963 show it had neither cowl lights nor fender lights at that time. An extensive article about this car's history was published in MAFCGB "Quail" magazine February 2022. If anyone one is interested I can you copy.

    AF small bore inlet manifold

A snip from our UK "Bert Thomas Manual" -( a compilation form various sources) . Personally I've used 21.4 mm venturis in the carbs for the smaller bore engine and not detected any difference....!

Car sitting for a couple years

All of above are good suggestions. I would also add that after puttig the fresh oil in , leave the spatk plugs out and wind it by hand or with the starter to get the fresh oil circulated before attemptig to start it !

How Can Ethanol in Gas Affect Model A Can Affect Carbs and Oil?

You were fortunate! and I suspect you were somewhere with a dry atmosphere. I filled up with E85 once, camped in a damp valley in Spain and found the glass sediment bowl half full of water the next day! Easy to fix but it took me a while to diagnose the failure to start.

    Drag Link Ends?

. yes, there only reason I've found is they're useful for RHD cars where you can "flip" one end.

Can I put on new head nuts without creating future head gasket leaks??

Hmm, you're possibly OK to go ahead...but even one nut at a time it's a gamble and I'm a great believer in "If it ain't broke don't fix it." .
