    Today's the day

Thanks for the well wishes. Everything went fine. The investigators complemented me on the car and asked if they could take pictures to show their wives.. The officer that was doing the inspection, asked me where the vin number was. I raised the hood and told him the engine number...

    Today's the day

"Clara" is strapped on the trailer and about to head down to the Reginal Auto Theft division of our local police department for the inspection. Afterwards I will take the form I receive from them to the local DMV office so the state will issue a title.

    My first model T.

Those photos should stay with the car if you ever decide to sell it. When I bought my 1929 A, the person I bought it from had pictures of the car when it was recovered in a field with a tree growing through it several years back. When he bought the car those pictures were passed along to him...

    My first model T.

Knowing the history of the car all the way back to the 50's makes great conversation. I have an 80 year old neighbor who in 1965 sold his customized 1956 Chevy. He has a Polaroid photo of him and his wife standing next to the car when it was sold. 55 years later he found the car...

    Locomote

Between the dented fenders, and the headlight staring off into space pride in ownership is not in the owner's vocabulary.

You Can Do Most Anything With a Ford

That car sounds just like my dad's 8N tractor we had when I was a kid.

    Serial numbers

Texas also requires a physical inspection of the vehicle. Photos are not accepted. My inspection is scheduled for 4-8. After the inspection the title paperwork will be processed.

31 Five Window Coupe Too Small

The first vehicle we looked at was a 30 Deluxe convertible. Beautiful car, but my wife struggled to get in it. Our Kawaski Mule front seat seams longer than our 4 dr Sedan front seat. Maybe try and replace the steering wheel with something smaller to give him more room.

for those who say the hobby is "expensive"

Having restored a 53 Farmall tractor, and a 77 Toyota Landcruiser, I can say that money is not the main consideration when you find a vehicle you want to restore. It's a labor of love because something about the vehicle talks to you.

G Grandma Edwards Bought this Tudor

I just noticed the invoices had the engine number on them. It would be like finding a needle in a hayfield, but how cool would it be if someone actually had this engine.

    state titles question

In 3 weeks, I have made 5 trips to the DMV trying to get the title put in my name. I had to go get a bond from the insurance company just to submit the paperwork. Now I get a letter saying the vehicle has to be inspected by the Auto Theft Task force to verify the Make and Model of the...

Thanks for the info. That's the nice thing about being retired. You can always spend a little extra time exploring.
