    1930 rear window glass

Bought a rear window glass for my coupe from Brattons. 70$ for perfect fit safety glass, no issues.

    Brattons higher quality than Macs

Nice to see a comparison of products between vendors. Valuable for readers interested in that part. Wish we could do that for every part. However, after spending many thousands of dollars restoring my A parts, from ALL of the vendors, including swap meet vendors, I can’t say any vendor is the...

    compression

Mine is a stock head. Two compression gauges.... One says 50# all across, The other says 70# all across. It appears the average should be OK! Darned gauges, probably a third would be even different.

    Worst idea since New Coke!

+1 on the mess created by that nozzle. Bought several cans thinking it was just a bad can. They are all the same. And when they start splattering it messes up the paint job. Not using them any more.

    regulators

I am using this one from Mac's: http://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_model_a/model-a-ford-generator-cut-out-electronic-voltage-regulator-version-ford-script-6-volt-positive-ground-only.html Been using it for several months now, couldn't be happier. Works as advertised.

    Rear Axle end play

Did a search for axle end play before, but spelled axle as "axel" no wonder I didn't find too much, lol. Still not comfortable with what I have found, don't know if I should be worried?

    Rear Axle end play

While checking the breaks on my 30 coupe I noticed that the passenger side rear has a noticeable about of end play (about an 1/16). Grabbing the wheel and pulling and pushing produces a noticeable clack. Drivers side is OK. I tried looking in the various repair manuals, but couldn't see any...

    '29 Horn rod installation

Not sure if it is like my 30 coupe, but pretty much had to remove everyting like others had mentioned. But I was able to remove the starter and tilt the column enough to get the rod out the side door. It was like a 4 hour job just to put in a 50 cent anti rattle bushing! Good luck.

    engine with oil pan off

As a recent member I can say that I have gleaned valuable information about my Model A. This forum is a great service for us novices. As with any of these internet forums, you have the people who just can't resist the smart A$$ comments, jokes and the "know it all" attitude. For the most part...

    Anyone recognize this Car?

Anyone recognize this car? I know this is a long shot, but here it goes: I purchased this 1930 Model A coupe in April 2014 from a Lady in Elkton Maryland. Problem is her husband was the collector and had passed away. She had no knowledge at all about the car (except the price lol). Sadly I...

zenith carb baffles to prevent stalls during braking

My solution: hope it works for others. 1930 zenith 1 I rebuilt the carb, made numerous adjustments, almost gave up... I ordered a set of wire drills to check the jet openings. The idle jet is supposed to be a #75 or .021 thousands. I opened it up to .024, re- installed and now the car runs...
