Thanks for the responses. I think the problem is as Pat described with the gasket not sealing properly. It is one of those composite gaskets and the pictures show the carbon build up from the leak. Haven't replaced the gasket and tried it yet as I am suppose to be cleaning out the drier vent...

Have a 1930 town Sedan that I purchased in 2000. At that time I pulled the original engine out and had it redone including balancing, counter balanced crank, hardened valve seats, lightened flywheel, etc. This rebuilt engine had been stored in my garage since 2000 and was routinely turned over...

Found this old tool in a box while clearing out a basement. Any idea what this tool was designed for? It is cast and 6" long. Has a square opening that would fit a 7/16" square nut or shaft

Well it's out thanks to all the advice received on this board. Using the full face shield as recommended I heated it with oxy-aceryline torch and quenched in a pail of water. Did both top and bottom three times and I was able to pull/drive both pieces of the venturi out of the carb. Did not...

Decided to rebuild a Zenith carb today and had difficulty in separating the upper and lower bodies. Finally got them apart but broke the venturi in the process and now have a piece in the upper and a piece in the lower body. Any suggestions on getting the pieces out? Did some tapping but...
