Sure is a great loss. I never met Paul but won't ever forget his photo report of the trip to Bonneville and back. This is a classic and if someone has it please post it again. His posts were always informative and I've saved many. Condolences to his family. He will be missed.
Member since the mid-nineties when I started the resto of my modified '48 Convert. Since finishing in late 2006, I've driven her to two Regional shows - the 2009 Auburn,IN Central Regional meet and the 2010 Charlotte, NC Eastern Meet. I belong to the Greater Pittsburgh Group #48 also. The...

I just changed my 12volt converted generator to one of the new 'Genernators' (looks like a ford generator but is a one wire alternator in an enlarged aluminum case). I talked with the tech person at the manufacturer to get the proper hook up so my stock original ammeter would read correctly and...
Ken,
You know I'll be there with the '48 Convert. Bringing a high school classmate friend along. Driving the '48 from Wexford, PA (Pgh). We may even do some of the trip with the rag stowed if it's decent weather.
See you this Saturday.
Steve, This is a photo of the Houdaille front conversion that I used on my '48 which had the lever arm shocks originally. This was purchased in 1955. The bottom mount for the tube shock went to the same hole on the dual eye perch as the dog bone for the lever shocks. The upper long bracket bolts...
