Does Marvel mystery oil work as a fuel stabilizer?

Doggonit! I have been using MMO in my lawn equipment for years, chiefly because of the ethanol blended fuel around here. Also Stabil in the tank for winter storage! Could have saved some money if I would have known this!

    2026 MAFCA National Convention

I spent quite a bit of time there in the state prison! As a contractor, not a resident:D. It is a great city with much to do, good choice.

When to let your Model A go

While battling my recent clutch issue (stuck to pressure plate), I came to the realization that my soon to be 80 year old body might be not as limber as it used to be! That being said, the old girl is not being driven enough to be as limber as it's owner. I have been giving some thought to...

    Clutch Went T.U.

You got it, some times the simplest things are the most under looked!:) Took her out and drove around the 4 mile country block, she ran and shifted great! Thanks again.

    Clutch Went T.U.

nkaminar, You can unpack for your trip to Iowa! When I went out to the shed to measure the free play on my clutch, I had to move the car a little to get it into position. I thought I would use the starter to move it the little bit that I needed to access the clutch pedal comfortably...

    Clutch Went T.U.

Yea, I would love to have another experienced Model A guru around to give me a second opinion on my issue. My 79 year old body, and remote location precludes that I have to tackle it solo:D Later today I will attempt to measure the free play and look into adjusting the damn thing. You wouldn't...

    Clutch Went T.U.

Yes I have opened up the inspection plate and observed the operation of the clutch disk both when engine running and stopped. The clutch disk compresses and throw-out appears to be moving in and out, however the clutch pedal does not fully disengage it from the transmission. One of you fine...

    Clutch Went T.U.

Thanks for the advice, I could not see any cracks in the arm when my wife was holding down the clutch, however I will replace it anyway as that seems to be the most likely issue. I was planning to replace the link with the newer stile also to make adjusting the clutch easier.

    Clutch Went T.U.

I finally got back to solving my problem of the clutch not disengaging. Fall chores around the homestead have been taking up most of my time lately. I have decided to replace the clutch release arm as suggested. what is the best way of removing the beast? Dive the pin out from the top or bottom...

    Clutch Went T.U.

Thanks for the advise, I will check it out later today. Would do it sooner but 5 acres of lawn awaits it's weekly cutting. Retirement isn't all fun and games like they say.:(

    Clutch Went T.U.

Finally got my helper out of the garden so she could push on the clutch pedal while I checked out my problem. As I feared there was no crack visible on the arm as suggested, and it appears that the horizontal shaft going into the bell-housing is turning as well. My next steps will...

    Clutch Went T.U.

Yesterday I went out to take the old girl my (29 Tudor) for a Sunday drive. Probably for the last time this season, anyway she started right up and ran as smooth as ever. When I went to put her into reverse she responded with severe gear grinding as if I had not pushed the clutch in. With the...
