Been thinking of getting a new coil for 1950 ford 8BA. Read on here that I should get a Echlin IC 8. Can't find one at NAPA. There is a used one on EBAY but don't think I want a used one. Got any ideas? Al

Well, I'm not sure about that.I did remove the kick panels when we worked on it.

I had the same problem with my 48. An old time body man came by and had me take the kick panels out from the inside. There are some bolts there. Loosen them. He then pushed around from the front of the hood a few times and Voila it fits good now.

I swear by it. I always use it when going on a tour. After about 40 miles cars smooths out and operates with very light throttle . Just like driving with a tail wind.

Is the U Joint on tight? If I remember right, there is a bolt that holds the U Joint tight against the transmission shaft. Al

I am a newbe at the ford barn and am not sure how to contact a person. I do lurk on the ford flathead site. I have all the heater parts except the one part that fits under the front of the hood and holds the front of the long air tube against the top of the hood. I think it attaches somewhere...
