    Brought Home a 22 Touring

Wasn't looking for another project, but this one was too good to pass up. Local car, bought it off the second owner. It sat in the basement for 13 years on blocks. Owner brought it in to do some repairs, but never did them. This is where it sat on blocks: Had to pull it out through a...

New Parts - It's gonna Run!

Quick update: Replaced the switch, wire, coil and distributer with a rebuilt one. This thing runs like a champ. No knocks, engine runs great. My brother in law and I spent the afternoon tooling around the farm in it. The owner is pleased as punch. He has agreed to give me first grabs at...

    1927 throttle cable

I learn something new every day.......we had a '27 engine in our Hack, but I guess someone knocked out the casting and put on an earlier valve cover for the throttle rod.

    1927 throttle cable

There is already a hole in the block and valve cover right between #2 and #3 cylinders for the original throttle rod to go through. Any reason why you are thinking of using a cable? Here is a picture - you can see the hole just under the intake manifold.

New Parts - It's gonna Run!

Tom, After a checkover last weekend, we found that someone has been messing around with all the igntion wiring. The switch had been taken apart and destroyed, the condenser had a screw missing, and the distributer looks like it had been taken apart on an effort to get the car to run at some...

New Parts - It's gonna Run!

Working on getting a 28 Model A running that has been sitting for years. Someone in the past broke the back of the ignition switch. I told the owner to order a new one - he ordered everything - switch, coil, complete new distributer, etc. Makes my life easier. Just replace it all, instead...

    Removing Ignition Wire from Distributer

Good deal. So to prevent a short, should I spin it in until it bottoms out, then back it off a turn or two?

    Removing Ignition Wire from Distributer

Hi all, Working on getting a 28 Model A running, and discovered that someone in the past has destroyed the ignition switch. I have a new switch, etc, on the way, but am curious as to how the armored cable comes out of the bottom of the distributer. Does it just unscrew, or is there more to...

    Found a 28

Found a carb and installed it. No spark. Yippee. Time to learn all about the Model A ignition. So far: Battery is good Wiring is correct The car is an hour away from me, so I will be heading back Sunday to try and pinpoint the issue.

    Found a 28

Ok guys, maybe I need a lesson on telling the differences in years on Model A's. The owner tells me it's a '28, but it is possible he is wrong. So - door handles are on '29s, and 28's came with no exterior handles?

    Found a 28

See that is a win - win situation! Another car AND more tools! I like it! Right now I am on the hunt for a new carb - the original is physically broken, which is why I think it has been parked for so long
