I have a '31 coupe. Will a side bowl gas filter work on a Tilotson X carb?

What was the method to free it?

I sign in and start searching and reading the threads. After some time (maybe 10 minutes) I loose my connections. To view a picture or make a post I have to log in again. What's happening? :confused:

Found this thread that is about the same problem I have. My rumble seat back releases on one side from the lid top when closed. This because one tab rotates and lets the back come loose from the lid. What can I do to freeze the tab in position to hold the seat back tight against the lid?

If your car is still 6 volts, I don't think it will work. If you do try to use it, be certain to put the red meter lead to your positive car lead whether it is to the starter or ground.

If your wiring is stock, your light switch should be - first click left - cowl and tail lights first click right - low beams with tail lights second click right - high beams with tail lights straight down - everything off

Thanks for all the great ideas. I am not currently having any dirt/rust problems. Planning to rebuild my Tillitson and thought a filter would be a good addition. I may try the pencil filter ahead of the gas shut off valve. CT Jack, our cars look similar.

I'm trying to figure out how to install a fuel filter on my '31 coupe that has the indented fire wall with the original shut off valve. :confused:
