it didnt look bad till i cleaned the rust away. lol
a piece of solid copper flat bar and a mig welder will do wonders on pitted metal. and dont forget the grinder!
wanted to mount this to fix the upper lip of brace...
Thanks for the advise on the wheels. I have yet to put the fenders on the frame with the 30/31 wheels. i will have to post pics so you guys can shed some light on what issues i may have. I think i really lucked out on the cab. i have seen some here locally in central florida that were rotted...
We got the frame for free. the engine was recently rebuilt and runs like a watch. Im trying to keep the project within a "normal" budget so i will have to do repairs. It has been patched up and painted. I will post pics of it. Thanks george
We have an original flat bed in good condition. wood is missing though. looks like it takes 5/4" wood. im assuming they used rough cut lumber back then. The bed will be leaning against the wall for a while though. lol. still have some work to do.
thanks george
Needed a little tweeking to get the gap right.
First time i have ever used wood to such an extent in a automobile!
Howells sheetmetal cowl panels. fit well except a smaller gap are rear of tank. can be fixed.
This is my first Model A build. I have built many cars prior to this but have never worked with this era truck. I will be posting new threads with some questions about assembly. Thanks George
