One of the tips I saw in the Restorer said to use a grinder and take the sharp edge off of the inside of the bead. The edge can cut a brand new inner tube if it pinches it just right.

That one was a very severe Quake and so were the after shocks. I was reading some of the horrible first hand stories about it. My prayers are with you all! In my reading I found it interesting that there was a similar Quake there in 1931, the last year of the A.
