    Gas Line

Glass bowl. Just feels like the feral never gets seated to the bowl connection. I guess I could take loss from bowl and tighten that end in carb to see if it would seat the feral then reattach to bowl. Not really worried about the rubber line since it is made for gas. This does eliminate the...

    Gas Line

Gas line leak at connections (sediment bowl to carb). Replaced with new line. Does not feel like feral bottoms out on gas sediment bowl before running out of threads. Also believe vibration causing the problem. I have put a rubber line on , but do not like the looks. Hate to buy a new sediment...

    A little off topic

From an ex-vocational ag teacher and FFA member. Math, English, etc. are all important, but the FFA teaches a lot about life. I can still say the FFA Creed (the old version). My FFA teacher whup my butt enough, I think I could have said it backwards. Best teacher I ever had. And by the way if...

Be careful buying a model A that photographs well

Oil leak. Thought it was a rear main problem. Dealer had said it had a small leak. Tablespoon every four or five days. I believe the truth is he had only driven from trailer into his show room. Leak much more than "small" according to my opinion. Bottom line- I should have slowed down and...

Be careful buying a model A that photographs well

I agree pictures can and are deceiving. I purchased my truck from classic dealer. Did not know him, but trusted him. Drove truck may be 25 miles. Now pulling motor to repair crack in flywheel housing. And of course several other things. Did I over pay? I still do not know. Model A mechanic (...

    Oil leak bell housing

Oil leak for sure. Took to knowledgeable A mechanic. Just purchased truck with understanding it had small (slow) leak. Not small to me. Leak at crack where Cam Shaft fits to back of block. Just looking wonder how some much can come through crack? Some trans oil dripping from cotter key hole...

    Oil leak bell housing

Thanks for the replies. Flywheel housing has crack about 1-2 inches long from where cam meets housing. Going to take out motor and replace flywheel housing. Appears rear main is not leaking. Going to go ahead and remove pan to check slug, make sure rear main return pipe is open, and oil pump...

    Oil leak bell housing

May be showing my lack of mechanics. Could crack in the transmission or flywheel housing result in a oil leak? It looks like the leak would have to come around the crankshaft bearing or bearing/seal on front side of transmission for it to get into this area. Is there some other opening or...

    Engine Number

Truck was owned by a person in Arizona for a number of years alright. Wonder if they required a numbering system of their own? Truck is at mechanics and he read the number. I guess it could be a 2? Truck was sold to me as a 1930 model and the number on title shows a production date of Oct. 1930.

    Engine Number

Number on my enging block appears to be AZ125503. Did some rearch and cannot find the AZ prefix anywhere. Anyone know the meaning of AZ?

    What seat to use?

Took my truck to a restorer to evaluate. He said my seat and back not stock. After reading several post concerning seats, I do not think I want it to be stock. The original seats are thick and cannot go under seat back. My seat does not fully cover the base on the corners, fits under the seat...

    Mechanic Once Over

Mechanic is very experienced in As. He has 5 of his own. Plus it is my understanding this is primary line of work, on old cars. My thoughts are his experience and guidance will be invaluable for now in assessing what I have and in the future. By letting him look the car over he can tell me any...
