    56 T Bird Brakes

I’m using a vacuum gun to bleed the booster.

    56 T Bird Brakes

You guys gave me good advice last year when working on an issue with my brakes. Finally getting back to this and have another question. Original issue was brakes hanging up and I was trying to determine if it was a bad booster (stock Midland) or perhaps pedal pressure on MC. When i removed old...

    56 T Bird Brakes

Thanks for the input. I'll investigate for sure before buying parts. What was said about the pushrod makes alot of sense.

    56 T Bird Brakes

Yes, its pretty new to me. My first thought was obviously to see if I lost fluid in the master cylinder but like I said, the cap snapped and I cannot remove. Doesn't look like I lost fluid at the wheels or hoses. Still had brakes, so likely there is still brake fluid. That booster is confusing...

    56 T Bird Brakes

Thanks Paul. Unfortunately, I busted the cap on the master and cannot remove it. I'll check into those suppliers as far as the booster is concerned.

    56 T Bird Brakes

1956 TBird brake pedal was hard with little travel. I know the Midland booster doesn't do much but it seemed as though it was not functioning at all. Now the brakes will not release after a short run time. After a short time with car not running, they do release. I suspect a problem with the...

    Starter or Switch?

Guess I’ll start by removing and cleaning switch. May replace it. If that doesn’t help, I’ll pull the starter and get it rebuilt. Maybe the brushes are bad.

    Starter or Switch?

Recently replaced a lever starter back to original foot button. Switch seems to be pushing and releasing as it should. The problem is that it only will intermittently turn the starter. Sometimes nothing. Sometimes a clunk. And sometimes turns over and starts fine. Does this sound like a switch...

    Starter linkage/Rod

Sorry for the confusion and my ignorance… certainly the starter foot pedal is lined up to starter. I think I will simply get the correct button and rod. The setup that was on there was more trouble than it’s worth anyhow. Thanks

    Starter linkage/Rod

    Here it is

    Starter linkage/Rod

This one is just starter actuator. That Fulton one is attached to the spark lever. This one is not. How can the normal pedal have a straight rod when it isn’t in line with the starter switch?? This setup had the lever on left side of column and it pushed down on a long rod on right side. I don’t...

    Starter linkage/Rod

I’ll take a couple pics and post. In the mean time, can someone post a pic of what the connection at starter looks like with a regular pedal?

    Starter linkage/Rod

31 Model A. Had one of those steering column levers for actuating starter switch. Part of it broke. Looking for a replacement or was thinking about just going back to foot starter. Car still has foot pedal and linkage that runs parallel to firewall toward starter. When I look for parts, all I...

    47 Flathead gas in oil

I have just put on a another carb. I was hoping to verify what caused it instead of only checking oil level frequently.

    47 Flathead gas in oil

Getting very significant gas in the oil of my 47 flathead. Looking for way to diagnose the issue. I have electric fuel pump for assist on starting. Heard that perhaps bad diaphragm in stock pump may be the issue. Or perhaps the carb? Any ideas how to isolate the issue ??
