I noticed that the manual says to not start out in overdrive, any reasons why?

I made a small J hook that I stuck between the spring and the arm, turn it 90 degrees and it keeps the support from folding. Not a fix but it works until we can get some new springs.

My avatar sedan has a flathead. my coupe has a 327 so to me if both work good without a deflector, how's that apples and oranges.

If the flathead has a clean block and a good radiator, the cover isn't needed. My latest 40 came with a 327 and it doesn't need one either.

Like 69a said, I made a plate that mounts to the car and the license plate mounts to the plate. I've done it a few times, saves drilling holes in the plate.

Mine doesn't have the bar up through the middle. I thought maybe it was on the 37 car grille. Still can't load picture

It seems like a 37 truck grille, but not sure. This thread won't let me load a picture. Something is wrong with the web site.

My 40 has the 4 holes in the mount brackets.

I got one from Alchemy and v8fordman so I'm good, thank you all for the help.

My 40 came with a Champion aluminum radiator so I just painted it black so it looks more original.

Does anyone sell or rebuild the sway bar ends on a 40 Ford? Drake doesn't sell them. Can they even be rebuilt?

Electric would sure beat those vacuum tubes and the vacuum valve and even eliminate the worry about keeping the vacuum can lubed. Looking forward to a solution by you guys.
